Cavendish Advocacy appoints Director of Media Relations

We are happy to announce the appointment of Michael Tait as Director of Media Relations, bolstering our expertise in national media engagement and issues management.

Michael brings a wealth of experience to his role as senior client counsel and strategic lead for insight and research-led media campaigns. Following many years working in national daily and Sunday newsrooms, he moved into an advisory role as Director of Media and official spokesperson for Ruth Davidson, Leader of the Scottish Conservative Party.

Michael also has extensive experience in crisis and issues management from his service as Head of Communications for the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner.

Commenting on his appointment, Michael said:

Dealing with the media can be complex and challenging but it is critical to managing and protecting corporate reputations. Having worked on both sides of the fence, as a journalist and as a media spokesperson, I’m able to bring a unique perspective – helping our clients to navigate the ever-changing media landscape and achieve cut through.

Gareth Morgan, Managing Director, commented:

We’re delighted to welcome Michael at what is a really exciting time for Cavendish. We’ve seen rapid growth over the last 12 months, driven by demand from our clients for integrated campaigns comprising government relations, PR, digital and social. Michael’s extensive knowledge of the media and his ability to provide clients with senior-level media counsel adds real strength to our skill set.

At Cavendish Advocacy, we have an experienced specialised team of PR and Media Relations specialists based across the UK, adept at generating positive coverage and taking control of complex and challenging media crisis situations.
